Once again, I’ve got a list of things that I can’t live without. I know that I am a huge shopper (don’t worry, I’m going to get help… eventually) but this month I actually found a few items that I already had and just didn’t realize how useful they were. This month also has a couple of household items that really took me by surprise and changed my life.
So without further ado…
My October Favorites
So I recently bought a PMD Pro device (Personal Micro Derm) from Ulta and it has quickly become from fave! Technically, it’s too soon to say I’ve seen full results since you are supposed to use it for 8-12 weeks and I’ve only been using it for about 4-6 weeks. However, while I may not be seeing full results, I’m definitely seeing results! Full review to come…
Now this one is kind of random, and pretty much lets you know that I am one of those people that likes to watch cleaning and organizing Youtube videos for ideas. But if you’re a bit of a clean-freak like me, then this is for you. One thing that has always bothered me is that there were certain items in my home that I couldn’t actually get clean.
my couch…
my mattress…
my daughter’s unicorn chair…
None of these items can be thrown in my washing machine and I can’t see the germs, but I know that they are there! But now with this portable cleaner, they’re cleaner than ever before. After cleaning my couch and dumping that disgusting, yet satisfying, dirty water I was hooked! I went on to clean our other couch and every mattress in my home.
Febreze Professional Sanitizing Fabric Refresher
(Sorry I couldn’t find a link for this one. It’s sold out everywhere!)
I’ve always been the type of person that likes Febreze for those items that can’t be truly washed (see above) but I also always felt like I was my spritzing all of my soft surfaces for my ego. Sure, it eliminated odor, but it still wasn’t cleaning or killing any germs. Then I found this version of Febreze. Finally, a Febreze spray that not only left behind a pleasant scent, but it actually killed the odor causing bacteria. Now I use this in between my couch cleaning sessions.
Baby wipes travel case, but make it for grown ups!
In today’s world, disinfecting wipes are KING. Germaphobes like myself have always carried sanitizing wipes. But now, more than ever, we all need them when we go out. I didn’t want to have to carry around that big cylinder in my purse, and the 10 sheet packs weren’t enough. I also could never find them and when I did, I could only get 1 pack. That’s when I came up with the idea to order this bad boy from Amazon. When I got it, I filled it with disinfecting wipes instead of baby wipes and viola! Now I have a sleek case that won’t allow my wipes to dry out over time, and I have more than enough so I can even share with others.
ASP Soak Off Gel Nail Polish Starter Kit
I bought this ASP Gel Nail kit quite some time ago, but it wasn’t until last month that I realized how much of a life saver it is. I hadn’t had a manicure or a pedicure in months, but it didn’t matter because I had been anywhere (like literally anywhere AT ALL). Then suddenly *poof* I had plans… but I also had dishpan hands. That’s when I remembered that I had this gel nail kit and in 30 minutes I had a fresh mani-pedi that lasted for almost 3 weeks. the ASP Gel Nail Starter Kit costs about $75 USD. However, just one mani-pedi cost me about $100 USD, so it literally paid for itself after 1 use. I’m also ordering more colors as we speak…
Clairol Root Touch Up Color Blending Gel
This Clairol Root Touch Up Gel is something else that I’ve been using for quite some time. While this is a hair dye, I actually use it to tint my eyebrows.
Please note, the box literally tells you not to use on your face/near your eyes so I am going to tell you the same. Do as I say, not as I do!
So again, when the time arose that I had to pull my quarantine self together rather quickly, this came through in the clutch! I love this stuff…
Lancome Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara
Zendaya made me buy it!
Okay, now that the blame has been placed, let me explain. My eyes are my favorite feature, so to say I love mascara is an understatement. When I ordered this and got it in the mail, I immediately opened it and thought to myself:
“why did I buy this?”
The bristles/applicator brush was much bigger than I typically go for. Because my eyelashes are so curly, I tend to prefer smaller/thinner plastic bristles (Benefit, They’re Real and Loreal Telescopic are 2 of my favorites for reference). But I gave it a try any way and from the very first use I fell in love.
Dramatic, long, voluminous lashes! It was amazing!
Sure, I got mascara on my eyelids, but when don’t I?! The formula is amazingly buildable, it doesn’t flake, and it gives you length and volume without (too much) clump (I like a bit of clump 😉 ). If your lashes are shorter or curlier, the bigger brush will be a learning curve. But with proper technique, you won’t look back.
Hopefully my shopping addiction is helpful to someone out there. What are some of your current faves?
