Face Masks are all the rage these days… and I’m just as obsessed as the rest of the world. My obsession doesn’t stem from just being excited about the latest buzz. Face masks are actually a staple in my skin care regimen and have literally saved my oily, acne-prone, hyperpigmented skin.

For me, actual clean beauty products are my go-to. I love knowing that the products in my beauty routine are truly all-natural (as opposed to just throwing that buzz phrase out there, but still being full of questionable ingredients), and are safe for my body. This need for clean beauty products absolutely applies to the masks that I use, considering how often I use them. I’m all about that DIY life, but sometimes I just don’t feel like mixing anything up.

My favorite mask is usually my Bentonite clay mask that I like to mix with apple cider vinegar. But I don’t always need a clay mask, which is good for detoxifying , cleansing, and removing excess oils. Sometimes I needed something more moisturizing, or calming, or brightening for dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Needing/wanting so many masks to treat my various skin concerns can get very expensive, very quickly. So, once I decided to make “masking” an intricate part of my skincare routine, I swiftly found brands with all/mostly natural ingredients. I also wanted my mask products to be items that I could find relatively easily ,and didn’t require me to have to bust open my children’s piggy bank (because mama needs a re-up on her her face kids!).

Without further ado:

My Top 3 Affordable Face Mask Brands

Shea Moisture

Shea Moisture is mostly known for its hair care products. However, Shea Moisture skin care is just as amazing! They got some heat a few years back for some of their formulas changing, thus leaving some of our holy grail hair care product ineffective. But if you were turned off by this reformulation, I highly suggest that you give their skin and body care products a try, and especially their face masks.

Their are several lines to choose from, each address a specific skin related concern (much like their hair care products). While I’ve tried quite a few of them, the Hibiscus and African Black Soap lines are my favorites. The masks are a generous size that allows you to get literally dozens of mask sessions out if it for between $10-$15.

Another reason why I love Shea Moisture face masks is because you can get them almost anywhere Shea Moisture products are sold. I’ve picked them up at Walgreen’s, CVS, Ulta, Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx… you name it! These masks are affordable, easy to find, and actually have an ingredients lists that I can read: SCORE!

Yes To Tomatoes

Yes To Tomatoes brand makes very affordable, easy to find masks. My favorite masks are their sheet masks, which they have a myriad of different options. You can get a charcoal mask for clear skin, grapefruit for brightening, tomatoes for acne; you want it, you got it!

Every mask I’ve ever used from the Yes To Tomatoes brand has been at least 95% natural ingredients, and I know this because it printed right on the front of the packaging! on top of a having such a wide variety of skin care items that address specific concerns, but this brand is everywhere.

You can pick these masks up literally anywhere that skin care products are sold (literally almost EVERYWHERE). They are super affordable, and often on sale!

Origins

Origins is another skin care brand that makes amazing, (mostly) natural face masks that are tried and true. Origins face masks (and skin care products in general) claim to be formulated with all natural, and non-toxic ingredients (source). They are one of the high-end skincare and make up brands that are known for their “clean” stamp, and are formulated without a list of ingredients that are often found in other products.

Origins masks typically cost between $26-$65, so it’s a bit steeper than others. And although it is the more high end brand of the list, it is still relatively affordable especially compared to other high-end skin care brands.

Getting a hold of their masks requires a bit more focus as well. While they aren’t (yet) in stores like Target and CVS, they are in well-known stores such as Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, and a few other department stores where high-end makeup and skin care is sold. I have also found a few masks at TJ Maxx with a much appreciated price tag slash.

The use of face masks is sometimes debated for their necessity in a well-rounded skincare routine. I am someone that can’t imagine my skin without them. While a good DIY is always on the list, with these 3 brands you can guarantee clear skin, without tapping out your pockets, or a wild goose chase to find them.

So, tell me what do you think: What are your favorite face masks?
